66Blink 182 - "Self Titled"
The Facts
Blink 182 has set the notch for Pop-Punk, and they came out swinging hard on this full length "Self Titled" album. The album was released on November 18, 2003, under Geffen Records. The album was the band's fifth, and currently last album that has been produced in the last six years. The advanced CD includes bonus songs, "Not Now, and live versions of Rock Show and Anthem Part Two (based on country). The album hit number three on the Billboards top 200, the same year it was released (2003). I Miss You & Feeling This, both reached number one in 2004 on Modern Rock Tracks. There were four different singles released on the album, "Feeling This, I Miss You, Down, and Always."
The Music
This album is full of Pop-Punk energy. From tracks like "Feeling This," and "Go" the energy just sips out and latches onto you, making this a very fun album. Other songs such as "I Miss You," and "I'm Lost Without You" are slower, but yet has a catchy melody that you will be humming for weeks.
The Artwork
The album's artwork always strikes questions. What's it mean? Who made it? Well i happened to stumble upon a interview from this website. (I have linked it below) It asks
"Bobby": On the record, what does the smiley face mean?
Travis: "Me and my two designers at Famous came up with the idea. We basically just wanted an icon. Like I hated all the last Blink ones. We didn't really have anything that our band stood for. There was never a symbol, you know what I mean?"
The Tracks
The album has a total of fourteen tracks. With a range from Pop-Punk to Experimental Punk, this CD keeps your head banging all the way through.
